Kevin Durant - Seattle's Basketball Savior?

Sonics newcomer Kevin Durant scored the second-largest endorsement contract for an NBA rookie. He signed a seven-year, $60 million deal with Nike that included a $10 million signing bonus. The only other player to beat this contract was Lebron James with a $90 million deal.

So, now that Kevin's making the big bucks....can he save basketball in Seattle? Griffey saved baseball in Seattle. Shaun Alexander put the Seahawks on the map. Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp got Sonics basketball exciting. So, will Kevin go down as the player who saved basketball in Seattle?

Well, I sure hope so. I love the sport, and I never want to see basketball leave the city. Kevin, I doubt you read blogs...but if you do, let me know if we can help in any way. I know you haven't been here long, but the Sonics have a great history in Seattle!

Stuck in Atlanta airport for 22 hours

Have you ever gotten stuck at an aiport? I was recently stuck at the Atlanta airport for 22 hours. No joke....22 hours. My flight was scheduled for 10:40pm, and I missed my flight. The next flight was at 7:30am so I was thinking about getting a hotel room close to the airport. The Delta rep told me that I need to wait in line to try to reschedule my flight. No joke again, I waited in a line of at least 65 people, and I sat in line from 11pm to 1:30am in a single line. I couldn't believe it. I was in line for over 2.5 hours! Yikes. I was so exhausted and sleepy by the time I got to the front of the line. When I got to the front, the Delta rep simply told me she couldn't do anything for me......she said I needed to go to a different line. I was so angry, but too tired to show it.

I waited in another line for 45 minutes, and it was well past 2am now. Finally, the new rep told me that she couldn't do anything for me until 7am. By now, I was so exhausted that I laid my luggage in a corner and fell asleep on a chair in the airport. I woke up, and I saw hundreds of people roaming into the airport. I got up quickly and stood in line again. I spoke with a rep and she said there were no flights to Seattle for 3 days. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Finally, I asked to speak with a manager and the manager was able to get me on a flight at 8pm. I waited all day, and I finally got on the last flight to Seattle. The Seattle flight that I was scheduled on was delayed. I left Atlanta around 9pm. Wow, almost 24 hours at the airport. It was no fun, but the coach seat never felt so good.

Transformers

I just saw Transformers last night. I'm no professional movie critic, but here are just a few thoughts. The action was good. The storyline was mediocre. The human characters and relationships sucked. The horrible attempt at romance and character development was weak. I'd rather have seen the character development and storyline of each Transformer.....not the humans. The Transformers were almost the sub-characters. All in all, I'm glad I watched it....but it could have been so much better. By the way, there were so many cheesy lines.

I can't believe some people!

I decided to take my wife and kids to a Sunday family breakfast at a local pancake house. This restaurant called "Family Pancake House" is loud, fun, and perfect for kids. My two girls were very hungry...especially my 1 year old. She was very cranky due to her hunger. She cried for about 5 minutes, and we tried to help... but it was no use. Once the food came out, we fed our girls and rushed eating our food. The parents out there know what I mean....

We paid for our check and started walking out to our car. As I passed by this lady, she mutters...."thanks for ruining our breakfast with your noisy crying kids"......I had to do a double take.....I couldn't believe what I just heard. Right in front of my kids. I responded back to her and said, "excuse me, can you repeat what you just said".....then she started saying rude things about how our kids were too loud. I simply responded by asking her if she's ever had kids. She shut up pretty quickly. I just can't believe some people in this world. This is a family restaurant.....not a quiet romantic spot....the nerve of this lady. Wow!
