My Life Story...
I was born on April 15, 1986 (Yes...Tax Day indeed!) in Seattle, WA. I grew up in the South Seattle neighborhood of Beacon Hill and come from a big Filipino family. During my childhood, I was somewhat interested in singing and performing (although pretty much hated it at first due to nerves) and performed in a few local talent shows as a kid. However, once I began to start elementary school, my interest in singing and performing faded away for a bit and I became more interested in more "school" based activities, like student council and spreading cultural awareness. However, the performing bug did not leave me completely during these years as I performed, very rarely though, at school events.
Once I graduated from St. Paul School, I then went to school at John F. Kennedy Memorial High School in 2000. I was a very active student at this school and joined many activities, including involvement in Student Council, Human Relations, Choir, Drama, Link Crew and many others. Being at this school made me realize my want to become involved in leadership and it also brought back the performing bug that I had as a kid. I performed at many more events during my high school years, which included singing the National Anthem at assemblies/sporting events and performed in a couple of plays as well. This experience in high school definitely helped me figure out what I wanted to do in the future.
Now I am a student at the University of Washington and after taking a year of "cool" and "interesting" classes, I ended up becoming a Communication and Drama major in the process. While at the University of Washington, I instantly became interested in the communication field and am currently deciding which field of study I want to pursue in this field (either Public Relations or Broadcast Journalism). I also wanted to continue improving upon my acting/performance techniques and decided on majoring in drama as well.

About My Job...
I am currently just a "student" (although I consider this my BIGGEST job to date) at the University of Washington, but currently work as a Gateway Associate at UW's Undergraduate Advising Center. I basically answer student and parents' questions when it comes to topics about campus and also help make appointments for students to see advisors in our office as well. The job can definitely get "tough" sometimes, due to the complex questions that tend to arise, but I love this job due to the fact that I LOVE to surround myself with people on a daily basis. Other than my job in the Undergraduate Advising Center, I have become involved with a couple of organizations on campus also.
One organization that I am in is UW Leaders. This is a program under the ASUW (The student government of the University of Washington) that provides students leadership building opportunities through "mentor" lead curriculums and through service projects as well. I have been involved with this program for about three years now and am currently one of the mentors who in fact organizes many of these "leadership" building curriculums. I am also in charge of maintaining and designing the programs' website and was in charge of designing fliers for the promotion of the program as well.
Another organization that I have been involved with is First Year Programs through being a FIG leader. This is my second year as a FIG leader and I am basically in charge of implementing curriculums based on campus life, in terms of campus resources, time management, the idea of choosing a major, and other related topics. I taught a group of freshmen (with these curriculums) during fall quarter of last year and am very excited to go through this same process again!
I have also taken my "performance" bug more seriously once I started attending the University of Washington. I was one of the cast members in last years "Filipino Night" production which was held by UW's Filipino American Student Association and recently landed a part in "The Rocky Horror Show" which played at the UW Ethnic Cultural Theatre. However, one of my biggest accomplishments (as of right now) was landing a spot on KIRO 7's local singing competition called "Seattle's Stars." Landing this has definitely made me want to pursue my performance aspirations further, and I cannot wait for what's to come!
