So I'm not an expert in the field of women, but I do think I know the key to a successful date, and it comes in one phrase... don't be an idiot!

Guys, you want a first date to go well? then just be polite and intelligent, make her talk about herself, and don't be egotistical. There are so many magazine articles written about what women really want and all the stuff you need to do on a first date, but all we really need to do guys, is bring it back to the basics.It's way too often that I hear or see guys performing badly at dinner where it gives them absolutely no shot at performing later.

I was enjoying a delicious bowl of clam chowder the other week at Duke's Chowder House on Alki when the most obnoxious guy walked in. Him and his date sat at the bar and the entire time I did not hear the woman speak even once expcept for maybe a couple of mhm's. This next thing I'm going to say may sound like a woman speaking but, the guy thought he was such hot stuff and all he was was an egotistical idiot, talking about his business and how successful he is!

For a successful date, just be yourself... unless you're an idiot.
