My Life Story...
On Cinco de Mayo, 1986 Seattle, Washington recognized a new resident, me. My heart has always resided here, despite taking a 9 year hiatus to move to Bellingham, Washington with my mom and dad. There is where I went to high school and all that kind of good stuff before returning to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. I am now a junior here majoring in communication with an emphasis in entrepreneurship.
I love entrepreneurship and am constantly becoming aware of new ideas. I don't just sit and try to think of these ideas... no inspiration... rather I have learned to open my mind to the opportunities that exist in the world by becoming inspired by real life experiences.
I have been very fortunate in my life and been able to travel all over the world. From Australia to Europe, from Mexico to, yes, the great Canada, I have left my mark as "world traveler." If I had the choice, I would travel for the rest of my life just meeting new and interesting international people. Learning about other people's histories and cultures I think is the most fascinating thing.

About My Job...
I am currently a student at the University of Washington and will graduate this coming year. In high school I was not involved in any sort of leadership but in college I have found my calling.
Last year I got involved with a program called ASUW Leaders and am currently in my second year and a mentor in the program. This program has been my jumpstart to leadership through learning how to become a leader my first year and now, actually teaching leadership curricula to the new leaders. I enjoy leading so much and all the people I work with are great.
Next year will be my third year teaching a class of incoming freshmen. The program is called FIG (Freshmen Interest Group) and allows for undergraduate student leaders to actually teach a class of about 25 freshmen! I love doing this because I love being a part of these kids' lives during the ever so delicate transition to college. Seeing them learn so much from me, when I was at their point just a few years ago, is very rewarding. Sorry this all sounds so cheesy, but it's true!
