My Life Story...
You can take the boy out of New York City but you can't take New York City out of the boy. What more is there to say?

About My Job...
I actually have two jobs. My regular F/T job is at Treehouse.
Treehouse serves foster youth through six programs. Three are enrichment-based and the other three are education-based.
The Wearhouse
Washington State pays only $100–$200 per year to clothe a child, a woefully inadequate amount for a growing youngster. Our Wearhouse fills this chronic gap by providing a free "store" with new and gently used clothes, shoes, school supplies, books, toys, bikes — even computers.
Little Wishes
Imagine earning the grades to graduate but missing out on commencement because you can't afford a cap and gown. Or dropping out of sports or the school band because you can't pay your fees or buy a uniform. Treehouse's Little Wishes program provides funds for the activities that every child deserves to explore and enjoy. We may call them Little Wishes, but they make big dreams happen.
Summer Camp
Treehouse's camp program sends foster kids to the day or overnight camp of their choice. Summer camp introduces positive role models into otherwise difficult lives, while providing a much-needed opportunity to get away from it all, make new friends and just be a normal kid for one unforgettable week. Summer camp also gives foster parents a welcome respite.
Tutoring
Treehouse tutoring provides one-on-one educational help for students who, through no fault of their own, are far behind their peers. Treehouse's intensive tutoring program places certified teachers in public schools to provide foster kids with essential weekly tutoring in basic skills. After-school tutoring is also provided at Treehouse.
Educational Advocacy
Treehouse's educational advocacy program connects schools, social workers, foster families and the children themselves in order to obtain the intervention, testing or remediation services kids need — and deserve — in order to boost their chances for academic and social success.
Coaching-to-College
This innovative program teams volunteers with foster children to help them navigate the daunting college selection and application process, including identifying scholarships and other support services. Through the Coaching-to-College program, Treehouse is increasing the percentage of foster kids who are able to extend their education and enhance their future opportunities.
In the Coaching-to-College program. I recruit, train, and match volunteers with high school aged foster youth in order to help them with their post-secondary aspirations.
My P/T job is with the Northwest Ultimate Association as the Youth Coordinator. My job this coming year will be to:
1. Coordinate one of the country's largest co-ed high school ultimate leagues.
2. Run the UPA's Westerns High School Championship in Burlington, WA.
3. Basically grow the number of middle and high schools in the area that have ultimate teams.
Oh and I also teach GRE classes for Kaplan, coach the Edmonds-Woodway ultimate team, and volunteer with Chill Snowboarding in my spare time.
