Favorite Quote

I usually keep this one to myself but with all of the talk of favorite quotes going around I thought I might share.

Here's my favorite quote:
“Expect nothing from everyone and everything from myself.”

I hesitate to put this quotation at the bottom of my email signatures because it lets people know I have no expectations of them to do what they say they will do. The fact is they often don't. When reading this quote you either take it as, ‘okay so I’m off the hook with this guy,’ or ‘of course you can expect the best from me too!’

I believe everything we do is based on a decision, conscious or subconscious. We chose to do what we do and be the way we are. Our moods are rarely dictated by out chemical imbalances but rather by our attitude. If you are tired it is because you decided to get how much sleep you did or decided not to exercise & keep your body performing well. You can trace any situation you are in through a chain of events based on decisions you made. It’s all about responsibility and accountability .

I don't really have one favorite quote. However, I do have a very strong liking for all of the despairity quotes, since all of them are more or less true.

Jeff, very true statement. I keep trying to tell that to my kids that everything that happens to them in some way shape or form is a result of their own actions. Some things you can't control like my daughter and her car wreck last week, but most things are a direct response.

Nice quote - and very very true!

Was she stopped and someone ran into her?

Jeff Hill on Fri, Oct 05, 2007, 07:53 AM

Yes, she's OK as well... Long-story, but was in a three-care pileup where she was the first car. The car that caused all of the problem was driven by a drunk, illegal alien without a license or insurance. The car that hit her was insured and so was my daughter. Both insurance companies are going after the owner of the car.

So let's say someone steals your car then injures someone with it, can you be sued?

I don't know - interesting concept.

Is there a lawyer in the house?

I'm glad you asked. No, you are not liable if someone steals your car and then causes damage. Insurance follows the vehicle but only with permissive use. For example, if you loan your truck to a neighbor and they cause an accident, your insurance is primary.

If someone tried to sue you in a non-permissive use case, your insurance will defend you and vigorously deny a claim. It never gets that far though because the policy is very clear and attorneys know that.

I knew you would have the answer, Dan. Thank you.
