Phase 2 of Zoodango's Launch

Posted by James Sun on Mon, May 12, 2008, at 12:29 PM (6 comments)

Launching a startup company is not for the faint of heart. There are always a million things to do every day. The code doesn't always comply. And we can always find more enhancements and features to pump out......watch out for feature creep, right? Well, we've managed to do all of this with a 4 person full-time team. In case you're wondering, yes, we are looking to hire more Ruby on Rails developers. If you are smart and know Rails, give us a call.

With our limited full-time staff, we decided to break up our launch in two sections....phase 1 and phase 2 (how original, right?). Phase 1 was to get the smart invite in the hands of our users. We wanted to hear feedback and see how we can improve the experience. Thank you for everyone who's given us critical feedback. Phase 2 will be coming around in week 1-2 of June. It's definitely right around the corner. We will add new features to the smart invite with full management capabilities. We will also be launching our geo-social search engine that will offer a new way to search for venues in your town.

We have not announced our PR release yet. We will be conducting our full marketing efforts when we launch Phase 2 of the Zoodango launch. In the meantime, use Zoodango to meet up with your friends...and tell us how we are doing!

i'm currently using your site to hook up with my old high school friends. i like the voting feature. it would be nice to change my dates around after i find my location. overall though, it's pretty useful. good job.

StefJ, we are currently adding a feature to the smart invite that will allow you to add your own options even after Zoodango recommends some places and date/times for you. This will give you the flexibility to add any type of combination of location and date/times.

Just wanted to say thanks for restoring my beloved blog feature here at the Zoo. I can now go back to shamelessly promoting my new website, ginovia.com, for the graphic novel and animation enthusiasts among you. The site will go active in just a few days! James, let me know if Kristi might need a hand in marketing and promotions.

Been MIA from ZD for a bit. Just logged on and love the new look and features -- as well as the new page organization. I'm looking forward to playing with the new features this summer.

Your launch comes just in time when I talk to my BCC web class about using networking to help build their business and "personal brand."

Welcome back Marilee. I seem to recall you being a big Jack Kirby fan. You might be interested to know that ginovia.com will be posting never before seen concepual art from the king himself from my personal collection, when I had the honor of working with him on the Centurians tv show. Stay tuned...
